Mark Brown

Mark took up judo in October 2007 in order to supplement his long-running career as a competitive gymnast.

He retired from gymnastics in 2015, but has had a similarly successful career in judo, winning multiple medals at regional level and training under the likes of Colin Oates (European silver medallist, two-time GB Olympian) and Euan Burton (Commonwealth gold medallist, two-time GB Olympian).

He began his coaching career in 2009 as an assistant coach, developing his coaching skills alongside his technical and competitive skills.

In 2016, Mark achieved both his black belt and his UKCC Level 2 coaching qualification, and after graduating from university in 2018 he set his sights on establishing Harrier Judo Club.

Alongside his role as the founder of Harrier Judo, Mark is also a personal trainer, private English tutor and aspiring fiction author.
